Overview

Molybdenum disilicide heating elements are resistive heating components based on molybdenum disilicide. When heated to high temperatures in an oxidizing atmosphere, they form a dense layer of quartz glass on their surface, which effectively protects them from further oxidation. As a result, these elements exhibit exceptional resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. In an oxidizing atmosphere, their maximum operating temperature can reach 1800℃, and their recommended operating temperature range is 500–1700℃. They can be used as heating elements in industrial high-temperature furnaces for applications involving ceramics, magnetic materials, glass, metallurgy, refractory materials, and other similar industries.

Like other ceramic products, the mechanical properties of molybdenum disilicide heating elements make them brittle at room temperature and prone to fracture, which poses certain challenges for transportation and installation. However, these issues can be avoided as long as installation is carried out appropriately and the components are used correctly.
